However, in a completely unexpected turn, an ambitious knight-errant from House Elliott, one whom we cannot be sure is not in league with the devil himself, started to leak these screenshots on his unholy channels. As House Elliott has potential, we dare not slay him and sow his castle with salt, though it is a... tempting idea. We were to demand he stop these... heretical… practices, but instead decided we will trick the bastard by leaking these things with our own sacred hands instead.

In the previous Map Creator build, we introduced World Slots. Their numbers were fixed to 3 Regular +1 Contest Slot and they didn't hold much information about the worlds - they told if the maps were traversable, their size, the slot's name and the last save. Well, that would be hardly enough for playable worlds...
However, one of the first decisions about the next build was that we intend to keep the Map Creator feature fully functional throughout the next build(s). It would have been quicker to disable it for a while and just re-enable once all the major changes are done - a few builds later -, but we didn't want to take a feature temporarily away in exchange of providing a new one, especially as, in one hand, we have a few talented worldsmiths having fun creating new worlds and in the other hand, the Map Creator could be very valuable for creating private sandbox worlds that one could use to test the game mechanics in... well defined test environments (this is not coming in the Feudum Management build, but it can make it in pretty much any of the next builds - depends on feature priorities). Also, we wanted to keep the possibility open for restarting our Map Contests.
This led to the new World Card(s), with quite a few optional parts that are only available for a world in certain conditions (click to see in bigger):
Contest Map Mode | Worldsmithing Mode | MMO Mode (as a Running game) |
(note: this is a preview taken from the actual client. Some of the values are dummies and for testing purposes, and some of the graphic elements are yet to receive their final versions)
We have also significantly updated the World Selector scene... Vanguards already know some of the bits... but that's for another post.
Hope you enjoyed this small "sneak peek".
All the best,
- Mat.
